UK-based airline has announced that it will launch new flights to Croatia in 2008.
BBC News reports that Flybe will begin offering passage between Exeter and Dubrovnik in the spring, as well as a number of domestic services.
This should significantly open up the eastern European country to both business and leisure travellers from the south-west of England.
Furthermore, the new flights will be likely to enhance Croatia's standing among prospective buyers of foreign property, especially if it sees a marked increase in visitor numbers.
Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer at Flybe, commented: "Obviously consumers will benefit from the competition and we'll see how long that competition survives."
Croatia is currently bidding to become a full member of the European Union.
According to a recent report by the international body, the country is making "substantial progress" with its negotiations.
