The average price of an apartment is up, while top-end apartments are being offered at increasingly high prices.
The average price of an apartment was Kč 2.85 million last year, some 3.9 percent more than in 2005, according to the Czech News Agency (ČTK). The most expensive apartments were completed last year in Vřesina near Opava, North Moravia, which cost Kč 9.86 million. The cost of apartments in Průhonice, a suburb of Prague, reached Kč 6.59 million and some of the most expensive apartments were sold in Podolí, near Brno, South Moravia, for Kč 5.09 million. On the other hand the cheapest apartments were delivered in the Jihlava region where they sold at starting price of Kč 0.62 million. Last year the largest number of apartments, 5,186, was supplied in Prague. This was followed by Brno, South Moravia, and Plzeň, West Bohemia, with 1,443 and 700 units sold respectively.
