With the country becoming an increasingly popular destination for both property buyers and tourists, Michael Kent, marketing director of Moroccan Sands, has warned people to be aware of such "touristic land" restrictions.
A number of agents are not informing clients about the laws, Mr Kent said, claiming that often people buying this land discover they are unable to live in their property all year round.
"Don't buy one of those properties if you looking for somewhere for you and your family to pop across to whenever you fancy," he advised.
According to property site Amberlamb, King Mohammed VI of Morocco is aiming to develop his country as a tourist destination and a good place to invest.
The King's Plan Azur - a six-phase resort development across the country - is likely to deliver "property investment success", the site claimed.
